Amazon Developing Smartphone with a 3D Display

Amazon 3d smartphoneAmazon are developing a smartphone with a 3D screen, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal. The firm is looking to increase their exposure to the mobile technology market beyond the currently super popular Kindle Fire range tablet computers.

The smartphone that Amazon is developing is said to feature a display that will produce three dimensional images without the need to wear glasses to view them. They will use "retina tracking technology" to make the images appear to float above the surface of the screen - like a hologram. Indeed, the images will appear to look three dimensional from all viewing angles.

Other features are said to include browsing using movements of your eyes only.

Sources have said that the smartphone will also support 4g LTE connectivity.

Amazon have so far not commented on the rumours.
